Transcaval ureter: case report and a review of the literature

چکیده
The formation of the inferior vena cava (IVC) has its origin in a complex venous system which develops by anastomosis between 3 pairs of embryologic veins. Variations in the development of the IVC result from the patency, atrophy or from the disappearance of those veins (Lopes et al., 1992). The anomaly reported here was an occasional finding, which seems to be very rare, as demonstrated in our survey of the literature.
